"The Elvis painting is actually based on one of the first color photographs of Elvis taken at a concert in 1956 or so. He had that teal jacket on and sang to the screaming girls. He was the king of rock 'n roll and I wanted to show him at the height of that early popularity, before he became an icon but definitely on the road to being one."
